1. What stays on your device
The core LaTeX ↔ Word conversion runs inside your browser using a WebAssembly engine. Source files you drop into the converter (.tex, .docx, .zip project) and the resulting output files are processed locally. We do not upload the contents of those files to our servers, and we do not retain copies of them.
2. What leaves your device (opt-in)
- TikZ figure rendering. If you enable "Render TikZ figures", only the individual TikZ snippet(s) are sent to our server, which proxies them to QuickLaTeX for rendering. Your full document is not sent.
- Page-count / billing checks. When you convert a paid file, we send the source to a server function that counts pages and debits credits. It is not stored after the request completes.
- LaTeX Diagram → Image tool. The snippet you type is sent to our render server (and, as a fallback, QuickLaTeX).
- Payments. When you buy credits, checkout happens on Razorpay. We never see or store your card number, CVV, UPI PIN or netbanking credentials.
3. What we store on our servers
- Email address and hashed password / OAuth identity.
- Credit balance and ledger (each debit and top-up).
- Payment references and invoice numbers returned by Razorpay.
- Conversion metadata for the ones you paid for — filename, direction, page count, timestamp, warnings. Not the file contents.
- Referral codes and referral events you create.
- Standard diagnostic logs (IP address, user agent, request path, timestamps) retained for security and abuse prevention.
4. Local browser storage
Your conversion history (recent files and their output) is stored only in your browser's localStorage so you can re-download results without reconverting. Clearing site data removes it. It is never sent to our servers.
5. Sub-processors
- Lovable Cloud — hosting, authentication, database.
- Razorpay — payment processing (RBI-regulated Payment Aggregator, PCI-DSS).
- QuickLaTeX — optional TikZ rendering, only when enabled.
6. Your rights (DPDP Act, 2023)
- Right to access a summary of your personal data.
- Right to correction, completion, updation, and erasure.
- Right to grievance redressal.
- Right to nominate another person to exercise your rights in the event of death or incapacity.
To exercise any right, email texportdocxca@hotmail.com with subject DATA REQUEST. We verify your identity via the account email and respond within 30 days.
7. Retention
- Account and ledger data: for as long as the account exists, plus 3 years after closure for accounting/tax records.
- Payment records: 8 years, as required by Indian tax law.
- Diagnostic logs: 90 days.
8. Children
TexportDocx is not directed to children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors without verifiable parental consent as required by Section 9 of the DPDP Act.
9. Changes
Material changes to this notice will be announced with at least 7 days' notice via an in-app banner and/or email. Older versions are available on request.
